baran i know i was little bit late. but here its your comment:)i think the speaker is right .we don't know are going to like the perfect world, because the perfect world is always associated with technology, but technology can't make our lives perfect. we are all looking for happiness and happiness isn't about high qualified houses or going to space.well, thats it.
Baran, I think that this is great video. It is the only video that looks at the concept from both a historical and philosophical perspective. I think that the central idea philosophically is very interesting. Does a utopian place exist? What does it mean to each of us? If we reach a place where we thought we would find utopia, would we feel satisfied? What is your definition of a utopia? and if we need to live together in a society, how can a group made up of different people with different ideas about their utopian places, work together and make their societies perfect. There is also another concept, and idiom in English "the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence". Meaning the things that we identify as great from a distance are rarely so when we arrive. From a historical perspective, I was pleased that someone mentioned Sir Thomas More, as he was the man who first named the place. As a concept it had existed for centuries and heaven is certainly an example and maybe also you know about the word "nirvana" which means the same but for the viking people. Very good choice.
